Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe has backed Daniel Farke to remain at the club, telling fans to look forward to seeing the German manage more games at Leeds United.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Marathe said:
“Daniel has been tremendous for us. I think the club and the city and everyone in Yorkshire has embraced him.”
Farke joined Leeds United on 4 July 2023 and has changed the club’s trajectory on the pitch. In his debut season, the 2023/24 campaign, he guided the team to 90 points and led them to the Championship play-off final.
The following season, he led Leeds to the Championship title with 100 points, securing automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
When Leeds returned to the Premier League for the 2025/26 season, many expected them to struggle and face relegation. However, Farke demonstrated his tactical ability, helping the club finish 14th with a record of 11 wins, 14 draws and 13 defeats. He also guided Leeds to the FA Cup final at Wembley against the odds.
This season, Farke has continued his impressive work, with Leeds recording two wins, three draws and one defeat in their opening six league games. This has left them seventh in the table, an encouraging start to the campaign.
Farke’s current contract at Leeds United is set to expire at the end of the season. The club’s hierarchy, led by 49ers Enterprises, is reportedly engaged in serious discussions over a long-term contract extension, with talks said to be progressing well. Some sources have described a potential renewal as being close to completion.
